  22. A friend is running his Mac (!) in the following config:

  24. A4000 OS 3.0  Latest MB revisions, Rev 11 Buster
  25. Warp Engine 68040 at 40Mhz (no wait states)
  26. 22Meg ram.  Two banks:  1 16Meg 60ns and 1 8M 60ns Simms
  27. Emplant Deluxe 
  28. 540M Conner IDE
  29. 88M SyQuest
  30. Apple Double Speed CDRom
  31.  
  32. Runs the Mac side with a 256 color screen.  60 fps refresh.
  33. Super 72 Screenmode (800x600)
  34. Emplant 5.2 SW
  35.  
  36. The Emplant SW loads from the IDE drive.  The SyQuest and Apple CDRom 
  37. drive are on the Warp Engine SCSI II board, for access via Amiga & Mac.
  38. Emplant will take the first (fast) contigous memory chunk, in this case, 
  39. the 16M Simm.

  41. Running SW, flawlessly:
  42. Adobe PhotoShop
  43. Mosaic NetScape
  44. MPEG CDRom video/audio discs via QuickTime
  45. Several more...

  47. And, at any time, can bring LightWave up on the Amiga side.

  49. The emulation is very smooth.  Few clunks or gotcha's, when pushed hard.  If
  50. needed, the SW Emplant emergency shut down routine does its job, clean and
  51. simple.  The Amiga side feels untouched.

  53.   Emplant is under $400.  Worth taking a look at.
